From lens manufacturing to long-term clinic partnership

The people, technologies and professional relationships behind Technomedex Group.

The company was founded in 1994, with technological roots reaching back to 1989. Product distribution gradually expanded into practical education, clinical support and patient communication.

  1. Technological roots

    Development work on intraocular lens manufacturing established the professional foundation from which the company later grew.

  2. Company founded

    The company began by manufacturing three-piece PMMA intraocular lenses and microsurgical instruments.

  3. STORZ Ophthalmics partnership

    A distribution agreement was signed and STORZ Premiere equipment was installed in Kyiv, accelerating the development of phacoemulsification and foldable IOL use.

  4. Clinical expansion

    STORZ Premiere was installed in Lviv and the team continued supporting adoption of new cataract surgery technologies.

  5. Surgical portfolio development

    Bausch & Lomb Surgical solutions entered the portfolio; Millennium systems were installed and the company became a regular participant in Filatov Institute conferences.

  6. Diagnostics

    Cooperation with Reichert added diagnostic equipment to the surgical portfolio.

  7. Quantel Medical

    A new manufacturer partnership expanded the ophthalmic equipment portfolio.

  8. Clinical education

    The team organised live-surgery education, worked with Technolas and Zyoptix technologies and supported Ukrainian doctors attending ESCRS.

  9. WetLab training

    Hands-on phacoemulsification courses with Bausch & Lomb reinforced education as a core part of clinic support.

  10. Equipment and training

    A Technolas system was supplied to VIZUS in Zaporizhzhia, cataract education continued and the Filatov Institute received Roland Consult equipment.

  11. New surgical technologies

    The Stellaris system and aspheric IOL optics were presented to the professional community.

  12. BD and Optovue

    Partnerships with BD Medical Ophthalmic Systems and Optovue expanded the surgical materials and OCT diagnostic portfolio.

  13. 1stQ partnership

    Cooperation with 1stQ and Eagle Optics strengthened the IOL portfolio and the clinic- and patient-centred approach.

  14. Technomedex Group

    The company was reorganised and adopted the Technomedex Group name. Cooperation with AMO, later part of Johnson & Johnson, also began around this period.

  15. Ellex and Geuder

    New partnerships broadened the range of solutions available to ophthalmology clinics.

  16. German Ophthalmology Day

    A professional event in Ukraine brought together partners including 1stQ and Geuder.

  17. Practical exchange

    A symposium with Ellex and the Kyiv Eye Microsurgery Center included a selective laser trabeculoplasty demonstration.

  18. Professional and patient education

    The company received an Ellex marketing award, held the Cataract of the Future conference and launched a Ukrainian patient education resource.

  19. Manufacturer education

    The team attended 1stQ training in Mannheim focused on intraocular lens calculation.

  20. Independent management

    Professional independent management created the foundation for the next stage of team and service development.

  21. Education and portfolio growth

    Patient education and work with premium and toric IOLs continued to develop alongside clinic support.

  22. Supporting partners during the war

    We continue to coordinate supply, support clinics, participate in professional conferences and develop education and knowledge exchange.
